Overview
Meg doesn’t mind being kidnapped by aliens, and she enjoys her freedom to explore this new world. When the big bossy comes up and announces not just that she’s a potential mate, she’s his fated mate, her stomach drops. She was already forced into one marriage back on Earth; she doesn’t want to be caged again.
Maxu has done everything he can to avoid being married. He never wanted the temporary relationship, so he resigned himself to staying alone. But when the mating marks appear, he’s shocked and elated. He never considered having one woman only for him. Now he just needs to find her and convince her that he’s different from the man she knew.
Positives
We have another funny narration. Meg has a good sense of humor. I had to stifle a few chuckles so I wouldn’t get strange looks while listening at work. It’s a great contrast to her trauma responses. Having been through a lot on Earth and Clacenia, she is allowed to have some fear and trepidation.
Resisting Maxu has all the qualities we’ve come to expect from the Clecanian Series. Loving, sometimes grumpy, aliens, beautiful world building, and thoughtful character development!
Negatives
There isn’t a single thing I can think of, not even something I just didn’t like. Aveline puts a lot of thought and effort into her books, and it’s worth it.
Recommendations
Five Stars! Honestly, the only reason someone wouldn’t like this book and series is if they don’t like sexual content or don’t like intermixing species/races.
