Three paths. One trial. As secrets unravel and powers awaken, survival means choosing who to trust—and who to become.

The Leikr Trials is the third book of the Nordri Series. If you are unable to read the first two books, the author does provide a recap. The release date is 10/28/2025.

Overview

Elin is still recovering from their failed rescue attempt for Aeden. They also need to retrieve his family. She works with the Resistance to strengthen her own powers to help bring those she loves back together again.

Aeden is just trying to survive. The Chairman has assigned him to participate in the Leikr Trials. He tries to figure out why the Chairman is so obsessed with him. Maybe it has to do with why his ancestry isn’t in the system.

Tristan has to regain favor with Sto’r-menni after being disgraced. However, he makes discoveries he wasn’t supposed to. Now he’s second-guessing his allegiance.

Positives

The Nordi Series is a rich and unique world. It has elements of fantasy, science fiction, and Norse mythology. The result is you never really know what to expect.

Elin, Aeden, and Tristan continually grow as characters. Even without reading the first two books, I could tell. Many secrets are revealed, and yet even more questions are raised. But the characters take it in stride.

Negatives

Like I said before, I didn’t read the first two books. I didn’t feel lost in the plot at all. I felt a disconnect with the characters, and it took me a bit to get attached to them. I’m guessing if I had read the first two books, this wouldn’t be the case, so this is by no means a negative of the book!

Recommendations

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I give The Leikr Trials four stars. To fully enjoy the story and characters, I highly recommend reading the first two books. I might actually go and read the first two books myself, because I’m sure they’re just as good.

This title is available at no extra cost with a Kindle Unlimited membership.

I received a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy(ARC) of the book for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own and reflect my genuine reading experience. Receiving the ARC did not influence my evaluation, and I was not compensated for this review.
