He denied their bond and shattered her world. Now he’s back—and she’s hiding the twin sons he never knew existed. Some oaths never stay buried.
The Alpha’s Broken Oath is the first book of the Feral Hearts Saga, though each can be read as a stand-alone.
Overview
The night Winter had her first shift was the best in her life. Deacon had finally acknowledged the mate bond, and they spent the night in each other’s arms.
The following morning was one of the worst. She arrived home to a pile of ash; her brother and parents were inside three weeks later, in front of the entire pack. Deacon denies their bond. With nothing left for her, she ran. But she wasn’t alone.
Six years later, Deacon waltzes into her life again, as her boss. She has to guard her heart. She also needs to ensure Deacon doesn’t find out about them, her twin sons.

Positives
I’ve read enough shifter rejected mate romances that I’m rarely surprised. There were some twists, and one in particular surprised me. As for my requirements for a good rejected mate book:
- Strong female lead – Winter overcame a lot to provide a life for her sons.
- Painful rejection – Rejection, betrayal, and loss, there are lots of emotions in this story.
- Lots of groveling – Deacon realizes the damage he did and works to build a foundation for the relationships with Winter and her boys.
Negatives
The world-building and character development aren’t excellent, just adequate for a good story. So while it’s no Five Packs, it’s still a good read.
Recommendations
If you’re addicted to the rejected mate troupe like me, this is a good read. It’s three stars for me; ultimately, it isn’t a very memorable plot.
