He’s not the Playboy she’s been warned about. She’s not the threat his clan fears. But in Grayslake, love always finds a way—no matter the odds.
Roaring up the Wrong Tree is the third book in the Grayslake: More Than Mated series.
Overview
Keen has had it with his family. If they aren’t joining him, they are condescending to him. His reputation doesn’t help with the condescension. The saddest part is that his reputation isn’t exactly what it seems. He’s not the womanizer everyone thinks he is, and he has to convince his mate of this.
Trista is a half-hyena in the town of Graylake, where hyenas are being “purged.” Luckily, she knows the shifter rules and has a careful loophole she must maintain for her survival. When one of the Itan’s hot-as-sin brothers walks in, it threatens her unstable existence. Then he claims her as his mate, just when she thinks something is finally going right in her life, the rug gets pulled out.

Positives
Once again, we have a tough female lead. Trista has been bullied and abused by her father’s family all her life. She just dusts herself off and tries again.
If you have read in order, you may have noticed that Grayslake always has a plot twist, and Roaring up the Wrong Tree doesn’t disappoint.
Negatives
So I got annoyed with Van, who had a history in All Roar and No Bite. I thought he had grown more during his book. But apparently, he still holds onto some prejudices.
Recommendations
I give it four stars. Roaring Up the Wrong Tree plays with the emotions. There is so much pain and healing in Keen and Trista.
Narration Notes
Kendall Taylor narrates the series. Her voice adds a cozy feel to the series.
