She was locked away. He was exiled. Years later, fate gives them one more chance—but healing old wounds may be the most brutal battle of all.
Ravaged Wolf is the sixth book in the Five Packs. The author writes all the books in this series so that they can be read stand-alone and in any order. I can vouch for this since I definitely read them out of order.
Overview
Izzy does everything her parents tell her to do. They are obsessed with rising in ranks, so when Issy’s mate turns out to be someone of a lower rank, they’re horrified. Issy’s parents try to keep it secret until after her father’s review. They lock her away in her bedroom. One day, she sneaks out to find her mate.
Trevor is going mad not being able to see his mate. As she approaches, he tries to hold back, but it goes horribly wrong. He is an exile, and she is hospitalized. Years later, he sees her again. The bond is still there, but has too much passed between them? Can they find their way together?

Positives
Going into this, I knew Trevor would likely fall into a rut and that Izzy would be blamed. Of course, victim blaming. It takes her years to recover. She didn’t have a backbone to begin with, so it was going to take a while. She manages to pick up the pieces and rebuild herself.
Ravaged Wolf handles a lot of complex topics of abuse, rape, victim blaming, and suicidal thoughts. Cate C. Wells has a history of writing about these horrible experiences, but still keeping the hope alive.
Negatives
I’m conflicted with Izzy’s and Trevor’s family relationship. I feel like it flipped too quickly, without explanation or apology. The family being that angry with her seemed a little out of character for them without more context.
Recommendations
Not my favorite of the series. I give it three stars. The content may be difficult for some readers. If you feel ok with the content warnings and loved the series or love second-chance shifter romances, you’ll still enjoy Ravaged Wolf.
