She’s tough, he’s trouble—and fate just threw them into the same fire. When a dragon meets his match, sparks aren’t the only things flying.
Her Dragon Rebel is the sixth and last book of the Black Claw Dragons series.
Overview
Kara is truly a woman “in a man’s world.” After yet another incident of men harassing her as she was doing her job, her father has requested that she get some hired help. She has been getting busier, and the second worker will allow her to take on more jobs, plus she can’t say no to her only parent.
Rico’s family (the Kingstons) is putting their foot down on his aloof ways. He needs to find a job and hold it for a year before he can receive his inheritance. So on the job hunt he goes. He is up front with Kara about his intentions, which she finds respectable, so she hires him. He has no intention of staying longer, even after he realizes she’s his mate. Geez- what is in Black Claw’s water that every dragon finds their mate?

Positives
Kara had an imperfect upbringing. Knowing what she has had to overcome makes us root for her happiness even more. For myself, I know what it’s like doing a “man’s” job as a woman. You are constantly being judged by coworkers, customers, and even passersby. The author does a good job of showing this without detracting from the romance.
Negatives
I don’t know if it’s because I so easily relate to Kara’s character or what, but Rico’s inability to grow up is annoying. Which, now reflecting, is probably the point. It’s just frustrating.
Recommendations
For as much as Rico’s immaturity annoyed me, he is always supportive and attentive to Kara. There is also a lot of action. I give Her Dragon Rebel four stars.
