A cocky alien prince. A fearless journalist. When Earth’s fate hangs in the balance, trust becomes the most potent weapon of all.
Dark Planet Falling by Anna Carven is the second book in the Dark Planet Warrior Series. It’s Prince Xal’s turn to shine.
Overview
Prince Xalikian Kazharan has abandoned Kordolia for a future on Earth. After discovering human women are the answer to their species’ infertility, he embarks on a mission to create an oasis on Earth. He offers that in exchange for a place to live and prosper. Earth will have the protection of Kordalia’s elite First Division warriors.
Sera Aquinas is a journalist determined to discover the truth of why the Kordolians have landed on Earth. Prince Xal invites her on his mission to confront the incoming hostile Kordolian ship. She is surprised to find the Prince has been honest. Now she has to do her part in protecting the planet.

Positives
Prince Xal isn’t nearly as broody as ”Big Bad” Tarak, but he does have his dark history. Prince Xal is a stereotypical confident, cocky royal, but it’s been earned.
Sera is a perfect example of a woman who suffered significant trauma, but didn’t need a man to help her overcome it. The work is already done; Xal just provides support. Their relationship is very even; they both give and take.
Negatives
There wasn’t anything negative that I saw. We have a strong female, creative world-building, and some good character development.
Recommendations
Most of this series and spin-offs are going to be four and five-star. This one is five stars. We can expect very different plots in each story.
Narrations Notes
Jillian Macie and Todd McLaren continue narrating for the first four books of the series.
