Overview
Nora’s mother is a gambling addict, and she’s just put Nora up as collateral. The casino’s owner’s assistant puts her in the owner’s suite. The owner doesn’t tell Nora who he is, but offers to keep her and her sister safe if she stays. They begin to trust each other a little. After they spend a night together, she realizes she’s traded one cage for another. She grabs her sister and runs.
Six years later, Nora’s son has begun having strange illnesses. When Nora’s boss asks about the father, she’s unable to give him much. Her boss, Carter, informs her that Leo’s father had to be a shifter, and Leo is about to have his first shift. Nora has to go down a road she didn’t even know existed. So many secrets and no answers, she’ll have to confront the past to help her son.
Positives
This was a different kind of rejected mate story. It definitely wasn’t predictable. Every time I thought I’d figured it out, something else happened.
There is a lot of emotion in Claimed by my Fated Alpha. With themes like abduction, betrayal, loss, and hidden identities, it’s not really a surprise.
Negatives
It was overstuffed. Every twist was underdeveloped. It felt like I was reading six different summaries. If a little more time had been spent on just a few, it could have been a great story.
I also found the beginning a bit barbaric, like a caveman holding a female hostage. It wasn’t exactly like that, but close enough to give it a sour taste.
Recommendations
Claimed by my Fated Alpha was still enjoyable to read. It was just on the surface; there was no depth. I have to give it three stars.
