Six years after betrayal and survival, Lyra wakes to the last face she ever wanted to see—her fated mate who let her fall. But this time, she’s not the same broken girl he left behind.

Alpha’s Runaway Mate is the sixth book in the Feral Hearts Saga, but all can be read alone.
Overview
Lyra was cruelly rejected six years ago. She was then (almost immediately after) abducted and held prisoner for eight months. A witch had a change of heart and helped her escape. Oh, and she was pregnant through all that.
Now someone is tracking her and her son again. While trying to evade her trackers, she is ambushed. She was able to kill her attackers, but was seriously injured and passed out. The moon goddess has a cruel sense of humor because when she comes to, it’s to the face of the mate who rejected her, Kaine.
Positives
Pretty good story as a rejected mate troupe. There are a lot of betrayals, some of which are unexpected. Lyra is a strong female who just keeps putting one foot in front of the other. Between her and all the emotions it meets most of my criteria for a good rejected mate.
Negatives
Where Alpha’s Runaway Mate falls short is that Lyra gives Kaine too much grace. It’s like she just forgives and forgets. She makes excuses for him when she reflects, instead of just admitting Kaine was a moron. She should reflect and say, “He was an idiot, but he’s grown from it”.
It may be just a pet peeve for me, but I think it reflects a lack of character arc for Kaine and a weak one for Lyra.
Recommendations
I give it three stars. It’s a sufficiently rejected mate story with a few technical errors, but not epic.
