Overview
Magnolia (Mags) and Xavier(X) are conquering the seas now in search of the Metal Islands. They hope to find a place for The Hive to land and humanity to thrive. Just one problem: the Metal Islands are currently occupied by the cannibalistic Cazadores. That and they have to get there first.
Meanwhile, Michael and Katrina begin to uncover 250-year-old secrets. They search for why everything happened, where mankind went so wrong. Before you know it, your allies don’t look so friendly anymore.
Positives
The Hell Divers world is growing! X has conquered the skies, then the ground, now he’s tackling the water. We see new monsters and ancient ones, like sharks; they’ve survived the last five extinction events after all.
The whole series is full of action. The characters face high stakes and a need to survive. I’m so committed to X and Michael’s stories. And they better not kill off Miles!
Negatives
You’re not going to get much character depth in this series. The focus is definitely on the plot, a perfect plot, and the world-building. You may also start to notice a standard formula in each book: new locations, new monsters, and new revelations.
Recommendations
I personally don’t mind the little character development; I’m really in it for the world-building and cinematic entertainment. Wolves is four stars for me. I’m looking forward to what the next book brings.

R. C. Bray narrates the series. He is a great choice to match the hard life and trials that the hell divers and the survivors endure.
