She’s done being kidnapped. He’s done being betrayed. But when a fiery human captivates a guarded alien king, even armor can’t protect a heart from fate.
Ruling Sikthand, the seventh book, is like the beauty and the beast of The Clecanian Series.
Overview
Sophia is getting tired of being abducted by aliens. First, they take her from Earth and remove all her tattoos. Now the crazy alien king has taken her prisoner as a bargaining chip. The more she sees of Sikthand, the more she wonders what lies behind his armor, figuratively and literally.
Sikthand has been betrayed too many times to count. He knows better than to trust this human fully. But she’s passionate and excited to help his people. When the idea of making her his queen was brought to his attention by his advisors, he was reluctant. He can’t stay away from her- he’s drawn to protect her. What does this mean?

Positives
Ruling Sikthand has a different vibe from the rest of the series. We have yet another unique culture, but our male is the grouchiest of them all. Luckily, Sophia is positive and determined to thaw his icy heart.
Politics plays a huge role in this plot, more than we’ve seen in the rest of the series. There is also another “who-done-it “ which adds more suspense to the plot.
Negatives
I can’t find anything I don’t like. There’s a reason why it’s one of my favorite series!
Recommendations
Five Stars shouldn’t be a surprise. If you are sensitive to hostage romance, you may not like it as much. I feel it’s in good taste, but that’s me.
Narration Notes
Stephen Dexter continues narrating the series. You’ll see in my other reviews that I have thoroughly enjoyed his job.
I purchased the audiobook from Audible with a membership.
This title is available at no extra cost with a Kindle Unlimited membership.
