She ran when she heard the truth. He chased without knowing why. Now fate—and fire—bring them face to face in a Texas bar neither will forget.
Her Dragon Hero is the fourth book in the Black Claw Dragons series.
Overview
At the end of Her Dragon Lover, we hear how upset Jury is about being mated to Abby. She overhears him and promptly makes her escape, returning to her home in Texas. Eight months later, and she hasn’t forgotten him. She stops into her local bar for a drink, where a man harasses her. When he is about to take it too far, someone steps in to save her – Jury.
Jury can’t figure out what Abby is doing here; he thought she lived in Colorado. He was tracking down his cousin when he picked up her scent. His dragon was beginning to refuse to shift because of his desperation to be near Abby.
Abby and Harley have repaired their relationship, so she is returning to Black Claw for a week. Jury hopes to satisfy his dragon by spending some time with their mate.

Positives
Abby gets a redemption arc, though I didn’t really think she did. Her father had been the only one to show her any affection. We all need some love and affection growing up; our mental health and development can cause permanent damage. Abby is the perfect example of this.
It was nice to see a couple where the woman already knew about dragons. But they suffer complications that we non-shifters can relate to. They start with a series of misunderstandings, and just when they get that straightened out, someone fails to communicate their needs and reasoning.
Negatives
I expected more about Jury only wanting to be around Abby for his dragon. It came across as a misunderstanding, rather than a selfish reason. It all works out, I just was expecting it to be different.
Recommendations
It’s a solid shifter romance. From the description, I was expecting more emotions, so that set me up to be a little disappointed. Her Dragon Hero is three stars.
