Stefan’s past could destroy everything—including Harley, the mate he’s sworn to avoid. But fate doesn’t care about secrets, and danger doesn’t wait.
Her Dragon Lover is the third book in the Black Claw Dragons series. You can read them as stand-alone stories, but the world is richer when read in order.
Overview
Stefan is adjusting to being part of a clan, specifically one where the members care for each other. He’s grateful to the Alpha for finding him this job at the shop and apartments. But he has to be careful, ready to run at any moment, because he’s being hunted. For this reason, he also has to distance himself from Harley, his fated mate. He can’t drag her into this mess.
Harley has been nursing a crush on Stefan since she saw him, even after he rudely ignored her. But he’s made his feelings known, so she’s moving on. Unfortunately, she continues to make poor choices. This last date has some secrets, but they’re not his secrets. Nobody is talking, and the past is catching up to both of them.

Positives
Stefan has been adopted into the Black Claw Clan. He never knew a loving and supportive clan; the clan he was born into was selfish and mean. I love the way the Kingstons are so supportive and caring. They love every member of their family equally, no matter if they’re blood or not.
There were some pretty good twists in Her Dragon Lover. All the strings are interconnected and could easily be confusing, but the author does a great job delivering it in a way that makes it easier to keep the facts straight.
Negatives
For the previous two books, I was disappointed about the lack of lore. We finally get a little more about dragon dynamics! I feel like a little more work could have been done on Abby. She’s our next protagonist, but we’re left with a sour taste when it comes to her.
Recommendations
I give it four stars. We got everything we’ve come to expect from the Black Claw Dragons – a protective dragon, steamy romance, and healing arcs. This series is a must-read for fans of dragon and shifter romances.
