The Sound of Seduction by Sara Adrian

The Sound of Seduction, the fourth book in the Miracles on Harley Street series, narrates a romance between a humble nurse, Wendy, and a guarded prince, Stan. Their contrasting worlds…

She’s a humble nurse. He’s a guarded prince. Their worlds clash, but one stolen moment of passion could rewrite the rules of duty and desire.

Now available! The Sound of Seduction is the fourth book of the Miracles on Harley Street series.

Overview

Wendy Folsham knows he’s not for her. She’s just a low-ranking nurse; he’s a Prince! No matter how many high-ranking friends she has, she doesn’t belong in the world of fancy dinners and balls. She doesn’t even know how to dance! So no, he’s not for me, no matter how he makes me feel.

Stan has a responsibility to protect those around him. He can’t get involved with Wendy; it’ll put her in danger. If any harm came to her, he would never forgive himself. Being a prince means he has to make sacrifices. But after a fight for his life, he has a moment of weakness that changes his entire perspective.

Positives

I loved the intriguing plot and that our leading lady is a nurse. It is unique for a regency romance. I could relate to Wendy’s hard work and imposter syndrome.

The Miracle on Harley Street series builds on each story, so there are references to previous events. The author provides a preface where she brings you up to speed on the relationships among everyone. So while The Sound of Seduction may be best enjoyed having read the previous stories, it is sufficient on its own. I haven’t read the earlier books and had no problem enjoying the story.

Negatives

I got irritated by how many times Wendy was told she’s the one who keeps the practice going. It didn’t feel natural, most of the situations, I don’t think that would have been brought up. It’s minor.

Another minor detail was the sex scene. They had so much passion in previous encounters, and then things just got awkward. I think more details on Wendy’s thought process would have been beneficial.

Recommendations

Rating: 3 out of 5.

The Sound of Seduction is very well written. I just had those two annoyances. I give it a confident three stars. There were some missed opportunities in the romance, but it was fulfilling.
