He made a bet on her. She made him regret it. Now, six years later, she’s back—with a daughter, a thriving life, and a plea that could change everything.
The first book in the Fated Bond Series.
Overview
Liana was the pack’s scapegoat. Her parents were con artists who disappeared and left her as a teenager. Instead of supporting an abandoned child, they called her names and blamed her for everything. It also doesn’t help that she’s wolfless. So, when the future alpha, Kane, turns out to be her mate, she tries to ignore it and keep her head down. But he warms her heart toward him. Too bad it was a bet with his buddies.
Thoroughly humiliated, Liana runs. Six years later, she has made a name for herself and her daughter in a small pack. Her new home is in danger, and the only pack that can help is her old pack, where Kave is now alpha. To protect her new home, she confronts her past and asks for help.

Positives
Liana is a strong mama bear type. With her tavern, she can finally show people her worth and come out of her parents’ shadow. But sometimes shadows become real. There were a lot of twists that I saw coming, but didn’t go where I thought they would.
As a rejected mate romance, it does very well. The moment she hears about the bet is heart-wrenching. Kane immediately regrets it, but is unable to catch her before she disappears. He does an outstanding job of working to get her back.
Negatives
I feel like too much was stuffed into the story. It prevented any plot twist from being adequately explored. It works, but I think it could have been better.
Recommendations
If you can’t get enough of rejected mates, it’s a good read. As just a shifter romance, I have to give it three stars. There are better ones out there, so if you have limited time, you might want to pass.
