Tarak will burn worlds to protect his unborn child—but danger lurks in labs and shadows, threatening the future of both species.
Into the Light is the third book of the Dark Planet Warriors series. We return to Tarak and Abby.
Overview
Abby is carrying the first human-Kordolian hybrid. During her first check-up, she realizes something smells fishy. The doctor was more concerned with the scientific study of their child than with their well-being. Fearing corruption and a threat to their unborn child, Abby and Tarak seek shelter on her family’s land.
Big bad, aka Tarak, will do anything to keep his growing family safe. In addition to the corrupt human scientists, he still has kordolian assassins on his tail. Why must everything be so complicated?

Positives
Abby and Tarak’s relationship is as steamy as ever. There’s just something about Tarak’s going from a feared-by-all general to a devoted family man. It melts the heart.
I usually don’t like it when a series goes back to a couple. I feel like it just means they fell short in the first book. But this one is needed to move along the overarching plot of the series.
Negatives
There isn’t a lot of action in the first half. It probably could have been condensed a bit and built more of the beginning of the action. There could also have been a little more attention paid to the fact that their child is essentially saving the Kordolian species.
Recommendations
If you’re looking for an alien romance that has emotional depth, this is the series! Into the Light is on the weaker side of the series, but it’s still four stars.
Narration Notes
Jillian Macie and Todd McLaren continue narrating the series, and if you were to play books one and three back to back, their voices are seamless!
An audiobook is available as a box set with the first four books and series on Audible.
This title is available at no extra cost with a Kindle Unlimited membership.
