When a silver-skinned alien warlord lands on her dull space station, Abbey’s life goes from vanilla to volatile—and dangerously romantic.

Dark Planet Warriors is the first book in The Dark Planet Warrior Series. This was the series that introduced me to alien romance with substance, raising my standards.

Overview

Abbey’s life on Fortura Tau is very vanilla. That is, until a Kordolian warship shows up needing repairs. Kordolians are the conquerors of worlds. Luckily, humans and Earth are the trailer park of the solar system, not worth their time. Or are they?

When the Kordolian general, Tarak, keeps showing up, she learns that he’s more than a silver-skinned, pointy-eared fighting machine. There’s a tenderness to this “big bad,” even if that tenderness is just for her.

Positives

I love how Tarak’s cold defenses are nonexistent for Abbey. She quickly becomes the center of his world. Putty in her hands.

This future world is fantastic. I especially like how we humans are at the bottom of the galaxy. We tend to think we’ve got our shit together, but really, there’s nothing special about us.

Dark Planet Warriors plays with our faults as a society.

Negatives

There could have been a little more character development. Their growth as characters seemed a little superficial. But that’s pretty small to me compared to the world-building and romance.

Recommendations

Rating: 5 out of 5.

It’s five stars for me; the romance between these two is perfect for me. A fail-safe for me.
