A dragon without a past. A woman fighting for her clan. Together, Brenna and Killian must defy fate and reclaim love before it’s too late. Craved by the Dragon is the eleventh book in the Stonefire Dragons series. It blends with other series from Jessie Donovan. Check out her site for the reading order if you want to read them in chronological order.
Romance Snapshot
- Emotional Intimacy: 5/5. Some significant emotional transformations result from trauma and recovery.
- Physical Intimacy: 3/5 Moderately steamy, there are some sensual scenes, but they aren’t overly explicit.
Overview
Brenna doesn’t want to leave Clan Glenlough. But the government has decreed that all non-Irish dragon shifters leave Ireland. If she doesn’t marry Killian, she has to return to Stonefire, leaving the clan she has fallen in love with.
Killian has no memory of who, or what, he was before waking up in the woods. Brenna is the only one who treats him as he is now, so he’ll do whatever he can to keep her near. But as the line between him and his dragon begins to fracture, Brenna and his family rush to find solutions. They will need to rekindle relationships with the other clans to help him before it’s too late.

Positives
We get a two-for-one special in Craved by the Dragon. Not only do we get to see Killian and Brenna’s relationship prosper, but Caitlyn, Killian’s mother, gets her own second chance at love, too. Their past is fascinating, and their journey reveals more of the dragon world and its characters.
Killian’s dragon issue is an interesting turn. The author makes it make sense, but I’m unsure how the human’s drug initiated it. The dragon issue also deepens Killian and Brenna’s relationship.
Negatives
There isn’t nearly as much steam as expected from Jessie Donovan. This is fitting due to Killian’s issue mentioned above. But some might be disappointed.
It also has three separate settings that make it feel like three separate books. There is a lot crammed into the book, and the flow between wasn’t smooth.
Recommendations
I give Craved by the Dragon four stars. I really enjoyed the emotional depth in both romances. There is so much going on now that the books can’t stand alone; you have to binge the series.
